Mike Dunne, retired food editor, restaurant critic and wine columnist at The Sacramento Bee, continues to pursue his interest in wine by freelance writing for the San Francisco Chronicle,, and other publications and platforms. He also is a frequent presence on the wine-competition circuit, joining 24 competitions in the past year. He has covered the Sierra-foothill wine scene since 1971, when he was on the editorial staff of the Amador Dispatch in Jackson.
